Seeing as I love animals so much, it deeply saddens me to see animals who aren’t so fortunate to have been given a loving home and living a fulfilling life. I really admire the people who go to work everyday to fight for the animals, helping, rescuing and rehoming animals in need.
It wasn’t until I moved to Australia that I found out about puppy farms and the horrific trade of breeding novelty dogs purely for profit. Seeing this mis-treatment of dogs, our loyal pets, in Australia of all countries is really unacceptable. Having seen the before and after effects of these dogs I am passionate about supporting the abolishment of puppy farms and helping to raise awareness about this issue.
I think every little bit helps and in providing pet photography I try to give something back. I provide my time and services in volunteer to organisations such as Pets Haven Animal Shelter, Oscar’s Law and the Melbourne Pet Ambulance. I photograph both rescue dogs that need re-homing and contribute toward their promotional/awareness raising products like the Pets Haven annual calendar and their Happy Home Tails Photography Book. I also offer donations, through the client sessions I provide, which is where you come in.
For all sessions booked for rescue pets I will happily donate $25 of your session fee to the organisation you support. Being able to provide a pet with a loving home and change their life is so rewarding and it makes your relationship with them all the more special. What better reason to capture this through a pet photography session and at the same time show your continual support for the organisations which make this possible.
