Pet Remembrance Photography

Earlier this year I blogged about the importance of remembering your pet through photography to capture the essence of your pets personality as well as the interactions you share with them.  Yesterday I heard that one of my clients Wendy and Ian have just lost their second dog within 6 months, Nelly, and I would like to pay my respects for a second time.

When Wendy contacted me to let me know about Nelly she said “I want to thank you again for the everlasting memories you have given us in your beautiful photos, we will treasure them forever. We have lost two precious pets in just 6 months and words cannot describe how we feel. Your photos will be with us forever, I love that you made Nelly smile for you.”  My thoughts and love go out to Wendy and Ian and I wanted to share some images of their beautiful Nelly who will be forever loved and remembered through these photos.

I have to admit hearing the sad stories of how some of these pets are no longer with us is something I wasn’t really expecting nor was I prepared for when I got into pet photography.  Being a pet photographer is very emotional for me.  It’s full of so many highs and lows, it makes me smile, laugh and cry, but at the end of the day being able to create images which provide pet owners with an ongoing remembrance of the joy and fulfillment that their pet brought to their life makes it so worth while.
